Lisa Alaniz discovered her passion for helping healthcare patients while watching pharmacy technicians at a drug store where her mom was employed. At an early age, she knew she wanted to pursue a career that empowered her to make the greatest impact on as many lives as possible.
In 1999, Lisa went to work for that same drug store pharmacy and was eventually promoted to filling medications for HIV patients. Lisa’s pursuits also led her to an immunology clinic in Tucson where she continued working with HIV patients, many of which became her life-long friends. Lisa went above and beyond her daily tasks by having lunch with patients, listening to their stories, and encouraging HIV survivors and their families through hard times.
“I do everything in my power to stand with my patients and their families–facing the hardships affecting their lives–so they don’t stand alone.” – Lisa A.
Lisa also learned about the various challenges of people living with HIV, further cementing her dedication to help patients cope with the disease. In her line of work, Lisa immediately saw the need to make treatments and medications more accessible for the most vulnerable populations. After relocating from Tucson to Phoenix, Lisa began working as the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Program Manager, helping translate for Spanish-speaking families.
Ensuring patients met all the qualifications to receive their medications became Lisa’s top priority as she primarily worked with clients who earned an income below the federal poverty level. She also drew inspiration from watching her sister provide for a child with special needs in a system that made it difficult to administer life-saving care.
Lisa finally got her chance to streamline patient services when she was promoted to Part B Program Manager. Lisa has taken advantage of every opportunity to build a legacy of compassion and innovation while working under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. Under Lisa’s leadership, her office went from paper filing to automated systems, reducing clerical errors, exceeding federal compliance requirements, and saving money.
Lisa’s passion, skills, and knowledge are foundational to TriYoung’s success. As a Senior Account Manager, she serves as a leading voice in healthcare communities far beyond Arizona borders. Whether she’s managing grant applications, troubleshooting software, or talking a client through difficult patient care transitions—Lisa remains steadfast in her commitment to make a difference with every opportunity God gives her.
Congratulations on your promotion, Lisa!
