Ian Taylor: Making a Difference Where It Counts
Ian Taylor’s career began in an unconventional way. While pursuing an accounting degree in 2012, he discovered that many of the tasks he needed to perform were not done using a computer. When Ian saw how costly some paper accounting mistake could be, he changed his major to computer information systems and never looked back.
Before landing a role with TriYoung in 2021, Ian spent eight years processing Medicaid/Medicare claims for a healthcare company. He developed expertise with programming languages like SQL, setting up infrastructure and solving network problems. Ian added to his knowledge base by assisting database teams and served as a technical manager for several years prior to his promotion.
Ian enjoys human interaction and functioning as the “information superhighway” for his peers and teammates. His attention to detail, network security expertise, and server testing skills are key contributions to TriYoung’s innovation and success. Ian’s willingness to collaborate with professionals on any level—from vendors to clinical teams to executive leadership—has earned him a well-deserved reputation for embracing new challenges and solving complex database issues.
Rather than take credit for his achievements, Ian prefers to look at his accomplishments through the lens of contributing to team efforts. Titles aren’t nearly as important to him as creating a culture of respect and availability while assisting those in need. Ian also considers himself a lifetime learner and doesn’t aspire to be known as an “expert.”
“When you become an expert, you stop learning from others around you.” – Ian T.
Ian’s knowledge and experience will continue to set him apart as an industry leader. He take advantage of every opportunity and strives to make a difference while advancing TriYoung’s mission.
Congratulations on your promotion, Ian!
